Henry Kissinger:
Intervention in FRY did not solve anything

                   Prague, January 22nd, 2000 (Beta) -
The growing of the negative attitude
towards the US in the world is not
                   just an inevitable consequence of
                   the increasingly dominant position
of the only super-power, but also a
                   consequence of the series of
                   imprudent, hasty and biased foreign
                   policy moves of the administration
of President Bill Clinton - stated
the former chief of the American
                   diplomacy, Henry Kissinger.

In an analysis published in the Prague daily "Lidove
novini", Kissinger names the bombing of Yugoslavia as
                   one of such moves.

"Clinton's administration is ruled by emotions… this
was clearly seen during the 78 days dedicated to the
destruction of the Serbian infrastructure", the text reads,
with the remark that "Serbia could not have been of any
                   strategic threat to the US".

"During the Kosovo crisis and after it, Washington and
London sang praises to the foreign policy of
humanitarian actions, as the modern alternative to the
                   traditional diplomatic negotiations", reminded the
                   former US Secretary of State.

Kissinger pointed to the fact that the KLA was not
disarmed, the society is not multi-ethnic, but just the
opposite, "and the sovereignty of Yugoslavia could only
be achieved by a bloody Serbian intervention".

"The terms negotiated in Rambouillet… guarantied a
huge bloodshed even before it started", reads the
analysis. "These demands could not have been met even
by a more reasonable Serbian regime", said Kissinger.
